Applesauce Cornbread

INGREDIENTS
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup fine cornmeal
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup skim milk
2 large eggs
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

2. Lightly grease an 8x8-inch baking pan.

3. In a bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

4. In a separate bowl, stir together milk, eggs, and applesauce. Fold the wet mixture into the
dry; mix together well.

5. Pour the combined mixture into baking pan.

6. Bake in the preheated oven until puffed and brown, about 15 to 20 minutes.
