Apple Nut Coffee Cake

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/8 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 medium tart apples, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

DIRECTIONS

1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla; mix well.

2. Combine the dry ingredients; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in apples and walnuts.

3. Transfer to an ungreased 8-in. square baking dish.

4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes
out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
